Welcome to Sun of the Croft Poetry & Writing. Chris first started writing over 20 years ago. He compiled his first poem in 1999 when he was 18 years old. His interest in poetry in particular dates back to his time in secondary school where he was inspired by renowned poets such as W.B Yeats, Patrick Kavanagh, Dylan Thomas, Emily Dickinson, and William Shakespeare.

Chris also has a keen interest in History and is a graduate of Maynooth University. Chris has published a number of articles relating to John Moyney VC in:

When Chris is not writing, he’s working!

As a Social Care Worker, he’s been working in Social Care services in Dublin for 15 years. He’s passionate about helping the most vulnerable and marginalised. Chris is a graduate of Dublin City University in 2020, where he completed the Homeless Prevention and Intervention course. He is currently completing a H.Dip. in Social Studies (Professional Social Care) at the South Eastern Technical University. He plans to complete his MA in the near future.

Chris has been inspired to write by his daughter Erin, who became a published author when she published her first-ever short story, The Magic Tree, in The Flying Superhero Clothes Horse, in 2018, aged 8 years old!!!😊✍️

He has also been inspired by writer, Camillus John, who has a number of successful publications including, How To Be A Bicycle, Why The Privileged Need to Read Literature, and Wiping My Moustache Clean With My Sleeve. Here’s the link below.
